Cousins Ella, Beth, and Jamie are at their family's beach house, and they're gearing up for the wildest time of their lives. Sassy Ella is majorly crushing on a cute older boy -- who just happens to be her sister's new boyfriend. Meanwhile, practical Beth is surprised when she finds herself falling for her best friend George. And shy, creative Jamie gets her heart broken when her summer love abandons her. Three girls, too many boys, and some seriously stormy romances...it all adds up to one unforgettable summer.

Any thoughts:

It’s a fun-filled drama book with all kinds of romances in the summer! How hot can it be? It was satisfying and enjoyable, unmistakably a must-read for the summer on sweltering days at the beach. That’s absolutely an ideal place.

The beginning can be a little hard to follow. Following three main girls - Ella, Beth, and Jamie - in third person can especially lose connection from the reader. As the story goes on, however, they develop their own sense of character, which becomes handy when telling the cousins apart.

Summer Boys is a great book when it comes to different types of relationships. I’ve discovered new ones - the sort of short hook-ups in the summer, each with a unique style. My only problem is that they were viewed as slightly irrelevant in a way that makes me think that you can throw away a relationship and be done with it. But of course, there’s drama and overreacting girls. Some may even be realistic. The whole thing is an interesting concept to me since it is mostly focused on the romance, but it really is perfect for the summer.
